Our metal post caps are not made in the United States. The powder coated copper 8x8 post cap is guaranteed for one year against fading. It is a slim, low profile utility cap that will last far longer than your fence or fence posts. Aluminum post caps protect your 8x8 posts from weather-related damage, whether it’s as common as shrinkage and expansion from atmospheric humidity fluctuations, or severe hurricane or tornado force winds during which projectiles that fly through the air cause damage from impact.
The powder coated copper 8x8 post cap only comes in one size: Actual (or True.) The term Actual is used to distinguish wood that’s age or kiln dried before it is cut from wood that’s cut when green or rough. Wood that’s cut when it’s still green is moist, so once it dries, the size of the finished post is smaller than it was when it was cut to the specified size. An 8x8 post that is labeled as such is 8” x 8”. But an 8x8 that is labeled as nominal is really a 7.5” x 7.5” post.
You won’t have any problem installing our metal post caps. Every powder coated copper 8x8 post cap has two predrilled holes for screws on the side. Once the screws are secured, the post cap will stay on the post forever.
